Madison Plain-Toe Oxford Shoe
The Oxford takes its name from Oxford University — the style originated in Scotland and Ireland in the early 1800s and quickly caught on among university students. These lace-up dress shoes are clean, classic, and traditional. The “plain toe” refers quite literally to the clean, seamless toe box. It gives the shoe a simple, confident, restrained look that’s exceptionally versatile — plain-toe dress shoes are well-suited to work events and special occasions. Ours are made in Italy from soft, supple leather with a high-shine finish. They feature durable Goodyear construction, wherein the upper is stitched to the outsole, and leather soles and lining. The stacked wooden heel has a rubber top lift for traction; note the gentleman’s notch at the heel, a design element meant to minimize the chance of it catching on the cuff of your trousers.
